Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - On September 14th local time, the first tunnel of the Ulaanbaatar Railway Underground Passage Project, which was financed by the Export Import Bank of China and constructed by China Railway Fourth Bureau Company, was officially completed and opened to traffic.
More than 100 guests from China and Mongolia, including Shen Minjuan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Mongolia, Nyamubaatar, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, Erdenerburen, Chairman of the "20 Minutes" City Committee of Mongolia, and employees of construction units, attended the opening ceremony. Multiple domestic and foreign media outlets, including Xinhua News Agency, EAGLE, MASS, and LIVETV, conducted interviews and reports.
The main line of Channel 1 is 651.66 meters long, and the underground roadway frame intersects with the railway at an angle of 27 ° 8 '. It adopts a (9+9 meters) frame culvert with a clearance height of 5 meters, divided into left and right sections. The left frame culvert is 136 meters long and the right frame culvert is 169 meters long. The construction content includes roadbed, pavement, culverts, traffic safety, and existing pipeline relocation.
As a key cooperation project between Mongolia and China under the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the Ulaanbaatar railway underpass project will significantly increase the traffic volume of road vehicles, shorten the travel time across railways, effectively alleviate urban traffic congestion, reduce the incidence of traffic accidents, create a safer and more convenient travel environment for citizens, and further improve the city's image and taste.
